ISRR 2003
11th International Symposium of Robotics Research
October 19-22, 2003, Siena, Italy
The goal of the Symposium is to
bring together active, leading robotics researchers from academia, governments
and industry to assess and share their views and ideas about the state of
the art of robotics and to discuss promising new avenues for future research
exploration in the field of Robotics.
A special emphasis in ISRR 2003 will be given to the new emerging frontiers
of robotics, such as the fields of humanoids, nanorobotics, and neuro-robotics.
Symposium Format
The Symposium will be held in an
informal setting with a limited number of participants to encourage technical
and personal interactions.
During the four-day symposium,
approximately 45 papers will be presented, in a single track, to cover the broad
research area of robotics; some papers will be presented in sessions focused
on specific research areas, others will be presented in a panel format to facilitate
group discussion.
The proceedings of the Symposium will be published as a book, with introductions
to each section written by senior members of the robotics research community.
Attendance at the Symposium is limited to the presenters and to invited participants.
Paper collection procedure
Papers representing authoritative
reviews of established research areas as well as papers reporting on new areas
are sought for presentation at the Symposium
A number of leading researchers will be invited to submit an extended abstract
outlining a contribution in their area of research to be subsequently presented
in a full paper at the Symposium.
In addition, researchers who have made significant new contributions to robotics
are invited to submit full papers to a competitive review process , which is
expected to result in the selection of approximately 20 papers; young researchers
are especially encouraged. These latter papers will be reviewed by the Symposium
Program Committee and the International Foundation for Robotics Research (IFRR,
the Symposium sponsor) before final acceptance.
Paper submission procedure
FULL papers submitted in competition
for acceptance (not more than TEN pages including figures) are due by April
20th 2003.
Paper submission is possible
both electronically and by surface mail.
For electronic submission please go
to the submission page at the symposium website at http://www-arts.sssup.it/isrr/regsub.php
Alternatively, four copies of the paper (10 pages - single-column format 11.5cm X 19.5cm) should be sent to:
Prof.
Paolo Dario
Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna
Polo Sant’Anna Valdera
viale Rinaldo Piaggio 34
56025 Pontedera (Pisa)
Italy
Decisions of acceptance will be made
by: July 25th, 2003
The final papers are due by: September 1st, 2003
Symposium Program Committee
